to whom it may concern; yes i paid full price for these jeans. yes i understand half the fabric is missing.
although my closet encompasses a towering pile of denim i almost always gravitate towards this pair. it might be the open and airy feeling i get if a slight breeze comes my way or the way my body can move in an unrestricted way. no matter what the day, mood or occasion everything looks good with these jeans. finding the perfect pair of denim especially distressed denim is much like finding a husband. easy for some, others settle while the rest are out battling the world of dating apps swiping every which way in search for the perfect mate.
i am an avid believer in DIY projects, but let me tell you-unless you naturally fall on your knees and the perfect hole forms in your denim, making your own requires a lot of patience, sand paper and strategic placement. i remember the moment i stumbled upon these jeans like it was yesterday. it was a cool balmy spring night. in lieu of the gym i opted for shopping as my cardio and made my way down Newbury St. and into Zara. they were folded among an array of other jeans but something about the wash, the fray and the endless amount of holes caught my attention. much like dating i tried to play hard to get, pretended like i didn’t notice them but i had fallen. i decided to give them a chance. i headed straight for the fitting room-one leg before the other and they were on. it was a perfect match made in denim heaven.
and the story goes, we lived happily ever after.
