THE WEEKLY RECAP:

This was the weekend I got back into my fitness routine. Routine being a loose exaggeration since it has only been two days, but nonetheless I am feeling good about it. Getting back into a routine of healthy eating and exercise has been so tough since it hasn’t been a priority the last couple months.

Some helpful tips when getting back into a fitness routine & sticking to it– mind you I am writing this to follow as well;

  1. get lots of sleep: this is tough for me, because I am a night owl and feel most creative and inspired late at night. This wouldn’t be a problem if I didn’t need to leave my house at 6am each morning for work. I find it is helpful to be mindful of shutting off all electronics and reading before bed. My goal is to get to bed an hour earlier each day.
  2. stop w/ the excuses: the list could go on and on and on about why you can’t prioritize your fitness goals and get to that exercise class. It’s plain and simple. Just. Stop. Making. Excuses.
  3. have really cute fitness gear: when you look good you feel good. When you feel good you’re inspired to do anything.
  4. find a workout you love: there is nothing worse than making yourself do a workout you hate. why would you ever want to go back? the trick is to find something that you enjoy and have fun doing so it never feels like a chore. I am on the hunt for a great dance class! Until then I will be sticking to intense hip hop yoga.
