proverbial hearts wearing english factory ruffle dress

Summer dresses have been the key to my wardrobe since moving to NYC. The city life can be tough, with hot subways, lot’s of walking and the sun beating down in between the pavement jungle. What has gotten me through this weather all month are dresses.

First, we know my love for white. This English Factory ruffle dress is no exception. The midi length, tiered ruffles and embroidered flowers make this one of the most feminine pieces I own. Of course I always like a little androgyny in my outfits so I had to toughen it up a little.

Shoes. This has been the hardest part of transitioning my wardrobe to this new walking in the city commute. And when I mean walking, I mean walking. I average over five miles a day. My shoes have to be comfortable. Luckily these Steve Madden Gila sandals have been the answer to looking put together, with a smaller heel and not sacrificing that much needed comfort.

To transition this look into fall, is the most simple thing. One word. Leather jacket.
