A couple weekends ago my family decided to take a spontaneous day trip for my mom’s birthday. We drove to Little Compton, Rhode Island and spent the day at Carolyn’s Sakonnet Vineyard which is owned by Alex and Ani. It has always been a dream of mine to go to Napa Valley, and this vineyard gave me a taste of how amazing a trip would be.  The tour of the grounds lasted about 15 minutes and was very informative.  We saw the process of how the wine was made on the grounds in the small facility.  The wine is only sold at their vineyard location and they sell about 13,000 bottles a year.

After the tour we did the wine tasting in the beautiful gazebo outside.  It was $14 for 7 different tastings which you can try at your leisure, so you do not feel rushed.  The wine tasting was the most fun experience between my mom, Memere (grandmother in french) and sister.  We laughed and laughed and my Memere shared amazing stories from when she was younger.  All in all the day was great and something different to do with your family or friends. This vineyard provided a ton of seating and the most relaxing and quiet atmosphere. I highly recommend this vineyard and it would make a great venue for girls night out, dinner parties or a casual relaxing day away from the hustle and bustle of life.
