Two pieces of denim walk into a bar.

One looks at the other and says “your wash would look spectacular with mine.”

And they make a baby: The Canadian Tuxedo.

Will I ever get sick of denim? Not a chance in hell. Even beyond an unequivocal pair of jeans the options are endless. We have jackets, skirts, shorts, jeans in any fit or color you can imagine- including a “wedgie” fit. What? Case in point. The Canadian Tuxedo is back in action.

Anyone with a moderate understanding of fashion has heard of the Canadian Tuxedo (CT for short). Have a look at some sweet denim on denim action with an actual tuxedo jacket on top. This is taking the CT to a new level of epic proportions. It starts with a jean and a denim button-down top. To most this would be the end of the outfit, or the world since this could wind up looking ridiculous if you’re not taking the proper precautions. But don’t just stop there, that would be too cliche. Aim to convey a different point of view to the Canadian Tux. Anyone can piece together two layers of denim and call it a day. Take this look further by adding a tuxedo inspired blazer on top. The blazer is an integral part of the Canadian Tuxedo at large. In doing this we take a otherwise casual outfit and vamp it up to be a little more fashion forward and appropriate for work if you spend your life in an office like me. Bonus points if you add a vest.
